Project: Resilient Education: Empowering Democracy Through Critical Thinking

The project “Resilient Education: Empowering Democracy Through Critical Thinking” addresses the severe disruptions of the educational system caused by the war. Schools have had to rapidly adapt to hybrid learning and emergency strategies, leading to learning losses and psychological distress among students. To counteract the long-term effects, the educational system must be strengthened to promote democratic values, media literacy, and active citizenship while ensuring adequate support and professional development for educators. The project team will work with regular meetings between both partners to address shared challenges. Lidingö will contribute by organizing workshops focused on professional development. The project integrates its activities within existing educational frameworks, training educators, and continuously refining strategies to enhance critical thinking and democratic values in schools. This structured approach ensures effective policy planning to address the identified challenges. The planned activities include meetings for workshops between student groups in Sweden and Poland. Emphasis will be put on education and the dissemination of the results.
