Are you interested in local democracy, international development and human rights? Apply for an internship at our office in Visby!
Who can apply?
This is an opportunity for students enrolled at a Swedish university with a strong interest in the field of development and democracy promotion. We welcome applicants from all over the world. Most of the work is conducted in English but since the working language of ICLD is Swedish, it does require a basic proficiency.
The goal of the internship is for interns to gain a deeper understanding of Swedish international development cooperation and increased knowledge about local democracy. Interns are part of the team and participate in our daily activities. They are encouraged to apply knowledge from academic studies to real-world situations as well as develop a small project relevant to their studies. ICLD is a small organisation with a working culture that is defined by trust, teamwork and flexibility.
Internships are unpaid and full-time during the spring and autumn semesters. It is located at ICLD’s main office in the lovely town of Visby. We will be able to assist interns financially with travels to and from Visby a few times during the internship period.
You apply through the Swedish Development Forum (FUF) and their internship programme.
