How municipal partnerships collaborate across borders to strengthen democratic practices in times of war
Since 2022, Ukrainian local self-government authorities (LGs) find themselves at the forefront of a war that has placed renewed emphasis on their crisis preparedness and resilience. The International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD) has within its mandate to support municipal partnerships created the Network for Democratic Resilience (DR Network) in order to address and strengthen LGs crisis management and democratic capabilities in Sweden and in Ukraine.
The purpose of this publication is to gather the project results of the partnerships, to provide inspiration for future collaborations and to highlight the network approach as a meaningful and effective working method within international collaborations.
