Project: A Safer Future for Children

The project “A safer future for children” seeks to address the problem of insufficient awareness and capacity to protect and fulfill children’s rights in rural and small communities, particularly in the context of war and crises. This issue affects community resilience and children’s access to education, safety, and psychological support. The project outlines key organisational readiness objectives, including developing policy planning strategies to adapt to new societal challenges brought by war, creating structured plans for monitoring and analyzing child rights, and fostering community participation by engaging parents, school staff, and youths in supporting children’s rights. The project’s main activities will focus on peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange between Västerås and Shatsk. It will include training staff in psychological first aid and techniques to identify children’s issues, developing strategies for policy planning, and promoting community involvement. Additionally, visual campaigns and communication plans will be implemented to spread awareness of child rights in schools and community centers. The project also includes workshops, seminars, and study visits to facilitate experience-sharing and the adoption of best practices for child support and crisis management.
