The objective of the programme is to strengthen the leadership and networks of local politicians and local authorities throughout Zimbabwe. This training programme focuses on elected women and men leaders in Zimbabwe, believing that they have the potential to act as advocates and role models for other men and women who may consider making a career in politics. The programme also seeks to foster institutional change through capacity building and individual learning in several areas relevant to local development, especially as these relate to gender issues.
The following countries are eligible for the programme: Zimbabwe.
The programme period: 2021-2022.
Participants should form a team from one Senior Council Official and one elected Councilor that will work on their leadership skills and complete at least one community project related to the Sustainable Development Goals by the end of the programme.
