Local Democracy Lab

The next Local Democracy Lab is organised together with the Local Democracy Academy on the 7th of June 2022, together with the invited researchers from the following fields:

• Climate action
• Feminist cities
• Child friendly cities
• Equitable health
• Tactical urbanism
• Participatory budgeting
• Digital services in local governments
• Transformative local governance

All team members within an ICLD municipal partnership can participate and we recommend that both the Swedish team and the partner team are involved to have a discussion that reflects both parties’ needs and problems. Politicians play a key role in the Labs as they can get information and data to make knowledge-based policies. By participating in the Labs, your team can get access to a group of competent researchers that can provide input on a specific question. They can help your team to problematize the issues raised, share relevant cases, and provide policy recommendations.

The format is simple:

• Local governments send one question they would like to discuss and get input from researchers.
• Your team meets the researchers on June 7^th during 1:15 hours for a discussion online.
• It does not require special preparation, all questions are welcomed, and the conversations are moderated by the ICLD team.

Deadline for local governments to send their question: 30^th of April 2022
The agenda will be ready: 20^th of May 2022
