In addition to the presentations, round-table discussions were held on the challenges and opportunities for local governments to meet the Sustainable Development Goals. Focus was put on Goal 5 on gender equality, Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities, Goal 13 on climate action, and Goal 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions as they related to the presentations. Several interesting contextual challenges were highlighted in the discussions and the students put forward opportunities based on their acquired knowledge from the field.
