Project: Partnership for equality
Lessebo and Guatemala city, Guatemala, will together address the lack of involvement of young women (16 to 30 years old) in decision-making and political community participation in Guatemala City.
The objectives in Guatemala City are focused around Policy planning as well as Community participation on this issue:
• Policies and regulations [regarding the stated problem] have been developed and approved by the authorities.
• Young women actively participate in decision-making in their communities.
Guatemala city wants to learn best practice for finding and developing good practices for girls’ and women’s participation. Best practice can look different because the partners have different conditions in the form of cultures, minorities and languages, which means that the solutions can vary.
The partnership is part of the Network for Gender equality.
