Welcome to the next ICLD Alumni talk! Have you been inspired to create change but don’t know how to get your organisation on board? Do you need support in institutionalizing new methods?
In this digital workshop, John Gitonga, ICLD mentor, and Eric Matata, Director of Municipal Administration and Urban Development at Kiambu County will take us through how ICLD Alumni have integrated new perspectives, models and methods into the everyday governance of their counties and municipalities.
Kiambu has significantly improved their local democratic practices and created a safer, cleaner and more vibrant environment for their citizens, with everything from improved child care to reduced GBV and more accessibility for persons with disabilities. Most of all, there is a perspective shift to responsive governance that puts the needs and views of citizens first.
Eric and John will guide participants through the steps Kiambu has taken to spread new knowledge within the departments of the local government and with key stakeholders, to move from individual knowledge to organisational change – and ultimately, societal impact.
26 June, 14:00-15:30 CEST / 3 pm – 4.30 pm East African Time
