Management of Solid Waste and sensitisation to it

This project addresses issues concerning waste management and its consequences for public health and a more sustainable development of the environment for the municipalities in Soroti and Leksand.

The Project will be carried out using the following tools:

  • A comparison of laws and regulations for waste management
  • Study and develop the process of waste disposal and recycling
  • Sensitisation to changed habits of the general public with regard to waste disposal and recycling.

The main activities is study visits, workshops, produce a teaching manual for TOT ´s and study materials for the different target training groups in both communities. Expected results are better methods and procedures being implemented (in Soroti) and less solid waste in the surrounding. Improved awareness on waste management issues and improved methods for awareness/behaviour change are expected results in both municipalities.
