The partners state that children and youth exclusion often is perpetuated by poverty and inequality, which limit access to resources and opportunities for young people to improve their social mobility and economic prospects.

For the South African partners the objectives are to gain capability to:

• develop and implement policies and programmes that impact on young people positively.
• implement programmes and projects that affect children and youth that is based on the actual needs and priorities of young people.

No interventions or activities for youth shall be developed without youth!

The Swedish partner’s aim is that the municipal committees shall include youth to a high degree in local decision-making, and that youth experience that they are being listened to and participate in the societal development.
