LDA 2022
The 2022 Local Democracy Academy will take place on the 6-10 of June in Visby, Sweden.
We encourage the participation of junior scholars worldwide interested in the role of local governments in development. Priority will be given to researchers working in the following countries: South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Vietnam, Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Russia and Sweden. However, scholars conducting research on local governments in other parts of the world are also welcomed to apply!
ICLD covers the cost of economy class flights, accommodation and meals, but participants must apply and cover the cost of their visa to enter Sweden. If you participated in the LDA in Umeå 2019, ICLD offers to cover the cost of accommodation and food, but not your travels. Applicants should be able to arrive on the evening of the 5th of June and leave on the morning of the 11th of June, applicants that cannot commit for the entire week will be disqualified.
With your registration you must submit:
- An abstract of a paper to be discussed at one of the thematic sessions.
- A letter of intent specifying what you can contribute to the Academy and what you hope to get from your participation.
