The overall project objective is to increase the inclusion of older people in society, both in elderly homes and service centers, as in the democratic process of local “communities”.
By involving the elderly with their life experiences and life stories, with their personal and local cultural heritage, at both centers and in communities, the quality of life among the elderly increases and also benefits a good social and economic development in their communities. The approach will be integrated into local and regional long-term strategic plans in both countries. All this gives a better social inclusion of the elderly in elderly homes and centers, and benefits both them and others in the local “communities”.
