The project aims to initiate the municipal partnership with a study of the municipal elections in each municipality in theory and practice. We intend to mix visits and participation in municipal elections. The project is expected to provide an insight into the similarities and differences in the municipal election processes in Gnosjö and Stefan Voda.
Our idea is that the project will strengthen and develop local democracy in both Sweden and Moldova. The goal is to revitalize local democracy in Gnosjö municipality through more active local citizens, and through a stronger council. In Moldova and Stephan Voda, the project will lead to a more developed local democracy as local government representatives will have an increased knowledge of the rules of democracy and its importance to the advancement of the municipality, the region, citizens and local businesses.
